2011 McLaren MP4-12C - MQKXYHQEG83Z

Following last year’s unveiling, McLaren has at last revealed full performance figures for its upcoming MP4-12C supercar, due to hit showrooms early next year.
Taking its name from McLaren’s Formula 1 heritage, the MP4-12C is powered by a new, McLaren-designed 3.8 litre twin-turbo V8 developing 441kW at 7000rpm and 600Nm of torque at 3000rpm. Nearly 80 percent of that torque is available from below 2000rpm.
McLaren has elected to withhold a specific 0-100km/h time for the new supercar, but officially it will cover the distance in just under 3 seconds.
Even without a specific number, that alone tells us that the MP4-12C is quicker to 100km/h than the new Ferrari 458 Italia (3.4 seconds) and the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera (3.4 seconds).
Top speed is listed as 322km/h, coming close to the 325km/h top speed of the 458 and the Gallardo 570-4.
Anthony Sheriff, Managing Director of McLaren Automotive, said the MP4-12C boasts the highest power to CO2 ratio of any internal-combustion-engined car on the market today.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission – which McLaren calls ‘Seamless Shift’ – and like the Ferrari 458 Italia – a number of driving modes are available.

Auto, Sport, Winter and Launch Control feature among the selectable modes offered with the seven-speed DCT.
A paddle system inspired by that found in McLaren’s F1 cars is found behind the steering wheel, and both paddles can be either pushed or pulled to perform a gear change, with the left paddle shifting down and the right shifting up.
A carbon monocoque shell – or a ‘Carbon Monocell’ as McLaren calls it – forms the basis of the 12C’s body, developed specific for optimum strength, rigidity and light weight. Weight distribution is 43/57 front/rear.
According to McLaren, recent changes in the MP4-12C’s development programme have seen the weight of the monocell chassis dropped to below 80kg, and the total finished weight is expected to be around 1300kg.
Composite forged aluminium and cast-iron brakes (which in this case weigh less than carbon ceramic discs, according to McLaren), light alloy wheels and minimal piping contributes further to the MP4-12C’s diet.
A unique system called Brake Steer stops the inside rear wheel spinning during fast cornering, acting to cut understeer.
The MP4-12C’s suspension has been specially designed to keep body roll to an absolute minimum, using hydraulically interconnected dampers – in place of anti-roll bars – to vary the amount of body roll allowed.
The car’s codename-like title – MP4-12C – is almost exactly that. MP4 is the chassis code for the company’s F1 cars, the 12 represents the car’s score on McLaren’s super-secret internal performance ranking, and the C denotes its carbon fibre body.
The 2011 McLaren MP4-12C will launch in Europe from late next year to early 2011, at a price of around $230,000. McLaren Automotive aims to offer the MP4-12C in 19 countries around the world.

2010 Jaguar Luxury Sports Cars New XK S

Jaguar will be launched a new XK limited edition model this month, the Jaguar XK-S. Like every Jaguar to carry the XK badge, the XK-S is all about performance with style – plus a large helping of individuality. The Jaguar XK-S offers its own spin on the 4.2 liter V8 XK in coupe form.
2010 Jaguar Luxury Sports Cars New XK S
As well as introducing the exciting new XFR at Detroit auto show, Jaguar also decided to overhaul the XK coupe and convertible range. All the cars get revised exterior styling with a different front bumper and rear valance, rear LED lights, and color-coded side vents. Inside, Jaguar has changed the center console to incorporate its unique gear selector, a rotary control that pops up after starting the engine.
The new engines feature direct injection and variable camshaft timing that is activated by torque generated by the opening and closing of the valves rather than by oil pressure.
The naturally aspirated engine has a new variable intake manifold and camshaft profile switching in the intake cam, where there is lower lift at low rpm, helping gas mileage and torque below 3000 rpm.
The car offers a host of additional extras beyond the XK’s already impressive specification at no extra cost. In true Jaguar tradition, every XK-S will be a highly desirable car with an impressively accessible price tag.
The Jaguar XK-S customer will benefit from dramatic 20-inch Senta alloy wheels, luxury sports interior, a sporty brushed aluminum gear knob and bright finish pedals plus distinctive body enhancements: new front and rear valence panels, chrome-finished side vents and bright finish upper and lower front mesh grilles, special tailpipe finishers and appliqués on both sides of the car.
Jaguar said," Our cars meet the challenges of the modern world and the needs of today's consumers – and they're also true to the Jaguar philosophy of creating beautiful fast cars.'
While Jaguar was at it, the range has been simplified to two models—the Portfolio and the R. The revised XKs go on sale this summer as 2010 models.

Ford Shelby GR-1

As one of its most contemporary and dramatic front-engine, two-seat, fastback supercars, this running prototype reaches closer to reality with a 605-horsepower, 390-cubic-inch, all-aluminum V-10 engine, a road-tested version of the Ford GT suspension and a stunning new polished-aluminum body.
Ford took the occasion of the world’s foremost showcase of automotive splendor, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, to unveil the Ford Shelby GR-1 concept, calling the new sports car a salute to “performance art.”
The Ford Shelby GR-1 is a uniquely emotional American sports car design that makes a bold statement about Ford’s performance future.
“The Ford Shelby Cobra concept was a small step in our plans for the Ford GT supercar architecture and our relationship with Carroll Shelby,” says J Mays, Ford Motor Company group vice president of Global Design. “And the Ford Shelby GR-1 is a giant leap toward the future.”
The GR-1 concept takes the performance car genre in a new direction combining modern sculptured surfaces in a sleek muscular fastback design. The result is a forward-looking supercar with attention grabbing Ford presence and Carroll Shelby inspiration.
The Ford Shelby GR-1 is a front-engined, two-seat, fastback supercar that is based on the architecture of the Ford GT.
Ford and Carroll Shelby
More than 42 years after their original agreement to produce performance cars, Ford Motor Company and Carroll Shelby are back together producing production and concept cars. Shelby, a former race car driver and creator of numerous collectable performance cars returned to collaboration with Ford in the design of the 2005 Ford GT, which goes on sale this summer.
Shelby worked closely with the Ford Design team and Advanced Product Creation group to develop the Ford Shelby Cobra concept car. In addition, Shelby will produce a high-performance, limited edition, Shelby Ford Expedition, for sale through select dealers next year.
Design
Racing inspired and wholly modern in design, this show car builds on the success of the Ford Shelby Cobra concept – the 2004 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) “Best in Show” winner – and reinforces Ford’s on-going commitment to performance excellence.
The Ford Shelby GR-1 concept is a sinewy, athletic design with a dramatic front engine proportion. The long hood blends seamlessly into the teardrop-shaped cabin while the dramatic fenders dart rearwards into curvaceous haunches thrusting the car forward and enhancing the aggressive stance and width.
The car looks as if it is in motion, even when standing still. The optimized wheel arches and compact overhangs define the dramatic proportion while the sensual surfaces express the car’s athletic nature. A chiseled physique is achieved with sheer and full surfaces working together, interfacing one another in harmonious lines such as the strong shoulder line orbiting the car’s form.
The front of the GR-1 is dominated by an impressive air intake aperture and air flow splitter, directing cooling air into the engine bay and wheel wells, while air vents on the top surface of the hood exhaust hot air from the radiator.
The V10 engine pushes unashamedly upwards into the hood’s surface exposing prominent bulges – a potent reminder of the car’s powerful performance – while air vents at the base of the front screen allow the motor to breathe. Intakes and vents perforate the body side and Kamm tail, further exhausting hot air out of the vehicle.
The front corners of the GR-1 are dominated by the front wheel well and trapezoidal HISS (high intensity solid state) and LED headlamps. The distinctive Kamm tail, a strong concave section, is further defined by the bold vertical tail lights at the rear.
A visor-like side glass graphic gives a hint of the dramatic motion of the butterfly-hinged doors.
The race-inspired, ultimate high performance, Ford Shelby GR-1 is the next chapter in a long line of emotionally-charged Ford supercar concepts.
Building Another Showstopper
Ford worked closely with Carroll Shelby to develop the Ford Shelby Cobra concept for the 2004 North American International Auto Show. The show car was the brainchild of Ford’s Advanced Product Creation Group, engineered in Michigan and designed in California, a partnership which is charged with developing future car concepts and technologies with an eye toward production possibilities. The group used the Ford GT architecture and fully engineered the Ford Shelby Cobra concept. For demonstration purposes, two chassis were ordered for the Cobra concept, but only one show car was built.
Before body panels were even created, the fully-operational running chassis was test-driven at high speeds at Ford’s Dearborn Proving Ground. So pleased were Ford officials with the concept’s chassis that they took the extra demonstration chassis and went to work on another concept before the Ford Shelby Cobra concept was unveiled in January.
The Ford Shelby Cobra and its predecessor, the Ford GT were hits of the two previous North American International Auto Shows. The Ford Design team was challenged to follow-up with another exciting concept.
The Designer
In the Irvine Advanced Design Studio, George Saridakis, a young designer, new to Ford in 2000, was known for his contributions in executing the details of some of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury’s latest production and concept designs.
Saridakis created a sketch that caught the attention of the Irvine team and resonated with Mays.
“George produced this completely resolved sketch – the best I’ve seen in 10 years,” says Mays. “When I saw it, it wasn’t a matter of ‘Let’s do more sketches.’ It was really more of a ‘Let’s get this into clay.’”

Remarkably, only the original sketch of the car, in three perspectives, was created.
“George nailed it in one crack,” Mays opines. “This is a designer so masterful at visualizing every aspect of the car and its story that it literally flowed out of his pen. And because the design is so pure, we really believe this show car will be a hit.”

The UFC sports car maker now a days launched it is teaming up with Findlay Customs and Modern Muscle Las Vegas to release 10 Limited Edition UFC Chevrolet Camaros sports car. 2010 New Chevrolet Camaro Sports Car UFC Limited Edition
The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro sports car looks like a new vehicle, but it was built from existing GM parts from other models. They started with the chassis architecture of the impressive Pontiac G8 and engines from Cadillac and Covette. GM made the new Camaro drop-dead gorgeous, with high performance, and affordable.
The interior of the new Camaro is comfortable and materials are good, but the exterior styling is where it shines. The stitched leather wrap on the steering wheel is nice, and the bucket seats are comfortable, with decent bolstering, but may not be enough to keep an aggressive driver in his or her place during aggressive cornering.
The front seat slides 8.5 inches, the steering wheel tilts and telescopes, and the seat can be raised up for better visibility, so drivers of all sizes will fit. The excellent leather upholstery is available in black, gray, beige and two-tone Inferno Orange.
The climate control buttons on the center stack didn't seem to be designed for ease of touch, but more for looks, but I have seen worse. Visibility through the windshield is good despite the long hood and raked windshield, thanks to careful location of the driver's seat and the ability to raise it. Rear visibility over the driver's shoulder isn't very good, but then it's impossible to make it good with a chopped roofline that gives it its sporty look.
The new Camaro sports car succeeds for all the reasons to buy this sports car, great looks and styling, a very potent and efficient engine borrowed from Cadillac, great performance and handling, and a good price point. I have test driven the Dodge Challenger SRT8, and the Ford Mustang GT. For my money I would choose the new Camaro sports car.
The first UFC Camaro will be auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson's Orange County collector car auction taking place June 25-27 at the OC Fair & Events Center.  The winning bidder will also come away with a UFC experience package that includes an inaugural drive with UFC President Dana White, backstage VIP access to a UFC event, meet and greets with UFC fighters, an autographed OCTOGON book and UFC gear.
The Camaro is being auctioned for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, a charity dedicated to providing financial assistance to dependents of US military personnel lost in the line of duty.
